For students who may be in alternative locations, a Google Hangout allows them to be part of the experience.

Reusable, washable notebook that when scanned, automatically sends to predetermined locations!Students Were Recognizing Choices!3/6/2018 Recognizing choices, advocating for personal needs and ensuring comprehension. I'd say we had a successful look at the sign :)Google Keep Audio3/6/2018 We've just discovered the joy of Google Keep's audio input. Not only does it make a recording, but it types the text at the same time. We love this feature and can't wait to use it in class!
Preparing For Descriptive Writing2/15/2018 A quick video clip helps students "relive the moment" and come up with great descriptions. Here are some of our final samples. We dictated our thinking immediately after watching the video.
At Mountsberg we went snowshoeing. The snow was packing snow and sounded like popping bubble wrap and crunching pieces of paper. You can hear the crackling of our snowshoes hitting our boots. We walked on a bridge that sounded like the creaking and crackling of someone walking in flip flops outside. You can hear birds chirping and it sounds like cracking your knuckles. When the train went by, we heard someone shushing you. The bird seeds sound like shaking popcorn kernels. At Mountsberg we went snowshoeing and it sounded like explosions. When we were walking on a hike you could hear the snow crunching like a cap gun. You could hear the sound all around and it kind of sounded like fireworks. It was snowing in little bits of snow. The sound of us running was like an airplane taking off. When we walked up hills, it sounded like a demolition crew. It sounded like a spring stream when we were in the quiet spot of the hike. When we went to Mountsberg the snow sounded like there was an army coming, stomping through the snow. The train sounded like a stampede was coming. When we went to Mountsberg the snow sounded like bones cracking and it sounded like mini gunshots. The snow made me feel ice on my face. At Mountsberg, when we walked, it sounded like guns and airplane engines. When we went through the forest we heard the trees. We heard the wood cracking over the bridge. It was not too cold or too hot. When we were feeding the birds, it felt like someone poking us with fingers. When the train went by, it sounded like a clip when each wheel went onto the next track. Katie, pictured above, is capturing a fact she got on her own after "reading" the sign. With New Weather, Comes New Experiences12/15/2017

Sidrabene - Our First Outdoor Trip12/11/2017 Beautiful weather, amazing facility. We had some fantastic student leaders create experiences for us. First, we had to record what we experienced using our five senses. We used the C-Pen to clarify words we were a bit hesitant to read.We wanted to capture our thinking for later. In order to eliminate the difficulties associated with spelling and reading our own work back, we used Livescribe pens. This allowed everyone to be 100% independent. We never seem to have enough time! We were on the verge of a fantastic discovery, but needed to dig deeper back at school. How do you maintain that "moment"? Well, we took a 360 degree photo using Google Cardboard so that we could re live the moment back in class. This allowed us to "walk through" the same area we had been in during the trip, but now we were able to conduct more in depth research using our computer and the internet. We could also include Mohammed who had been away in Dubai for several weeks.Click the button to see our picture which students then "walk through" using the viewmaster.AuthorMy name is Stacey Falconer. I have the privilege of teaching The Techdudes. I have no formal computer training or background. What I learn, I learn alongside the students in order to problem solve and make learning most meaningful. Archives
